London-based Michael Wright, aka Bon Accord, has a real knack for creating music that is breath-taking and heart-breaking. Influenced by his life in London, the daily grind, uncertainty, and even lower-league football, his music is the perfect balance of shimmering beauty, uplifting chords that make you feel as if you are melting away in an opiate haze, drifting vocals and melodies, and darker lines that cover you in a blanket of something a bit more mysterious. Bon Accord’s setting is equal parts Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, Depeche Mode, and Junior Boys. One moment you are being carried off into space, then you are being drawn to a dark dance floor, right next to the speaker, so it’s personal.
